Department of Romance Studies 2018 Student Prizes

The J.G. White Spanish Scholarship was awarded to Varun Devaiah Biddanda, Jesus Ruiz, and Ana Patricia Schonander.

The J.G. White Prize for Excellence in Spanish was awarded to Damon Bogetti, Matthew Donnelly, Regina Longley, and Alexander Rose.

The Ted Morris Prize for the most promising freshman or sophomore student in French was awarded to Lindy Davenport and Ally Zhang.

The Romance Studies Outstanding Performance as a Graduate Teaching Assistant Award went to Janet Hendrickson with honorable mention to Magdala Jeudy.

The Juliette MacMonnies Courant Memorial Prize, for a senior female French major who has excelled in her four years with special reference to facility of expression in French, was awarded to Shanna Smith and Marissa Bray.

The Carolina Corson French Prize for the most distinguished essay on a subject in either French philology or French literature was awarded to undergraduates Zhisheng (Ivy) Deng (first prize) and Brandon Mok (second prize) and to graduate students Magdala Jeudy (first prize) and Adam Schoene (second prize).
