Overview
Ivelisse Álvarez Santiago is a PhD student in Romance Studies. She holds an MA in Comparative Literature and a BA in Hispanic Studies from the University of Puerto Rico, with an award-winning thesis that explored Elena Garro’s literary persona through scenes of misreading and gestural poetics. Her research interests include autotheory, delirious fictions, imaginary readers, aesthetics of opacity, and the figure of the author as a strategist in contemporary Latin American literature.
Ivelisse is also a poet, storyboard artist, and co-editor in the literary magazine Demoliendo Hoteles (demoliendohoteleslit.com).
