Overview
Lena received her BA in World Languages & Cultures: Spanish and International Studies from Iowa State University. Her main research interest is in Afro-Latin America, especially Brazil and the Caribbean. She is also interested in the intersection between race and gender and how this manifests in contemporary Latin American literature. Other interests include decoloniality, feminist and gender studies, social justice movements, and movements of resistance.
