Overview

Mathilde Mottet is a Ph.D. student in Romance Studies (French). She received a dual degree (B.A.) in English studies and French Literature and a M.A. in French Literature from Sorbonne University where her research focused on the notions of the intime, identity, gender, space and silence in Romantic and Realist literature. She also studied abroad, at University College London during her Bachelor’s, and at Sarah Lawrence College during her Master’s, where she held the position of French Teaching Assistant at beginner and intermediate level. She also contributed to the Comédie-Française Registers Project (C.F.R.P.) in 2022-2023. Her interests include self-writings (diaries, letters, autobiographical novels) in 19th century French literature, gender and feminist studies, as well as French history.
