Do you want to connect with other Latine students at Cornell and feel a part of the community through our shared language? Are you willing to help others strengthen their speaking skills and confidence?
“Nuestra voz en español” a new collaborative initiative between the Latina/o Studies Program, Latine Student Success Office, the Department of Romance Studies, and the Language Resource Center will bring students and staff together to speak Spanish with other heritage speakers in an informal setting. Mary Kay Redmond, senior lecturer of Spanish and Bran Alves-Morgan, Latine Student Success Office advisor/senior dean of advising in the College of Arts and Sciences came together earlier in the semester with the idea of Nuestra voz en español.
This new initiative, moderated by Olivia Ochoa ’24, Latina/o Studies student intern and Spanish major, will launch on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., 429 Rockefeller Hall (4th Floor Rockefeller Hall conference room) and continue through April 26.
There are no assignments, no grades, no exams...just engaging with peers at your speaking level. Topics will be chosen by the participants.
All are welcome, no matter what your background is in Spanish.
