Critical Studies of Race, Gender & Sexuality

Race, gender, and sexuality figure as both critical modes of analysis and historical objects of inquiry. This intersectional cluster of concerns proves crucial to the history of the subject, notions of the human/non-human, as well as contemporary formations of collective identity. Race, gender, and sexuality also continue to underwrite dominant political discourse and contemporary culture. Faculty working in these fields offer interdisciplinary perspectives on a wide-ranging set of fields including: feminism and feminist criticism, queer theory, imperialism and coloniality, slavery, history of science, and theology.
